Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are playing an engaged couple in their new movie.
On Tuesday, Dec. 10, A24 released the trailer for its new drama — appropriately titled The Drama — starring Zendaya, 29, and Pattinson, 39. “A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected revelation sends their wedding week off the rails,” reads an official synopsis for the movie.
The first teaser for the movie shows the pair in character as Emma and Charlie at a warm-up photo-shoot ahead of their wedding — but it’s clear from their awkward chemistry that something is amiss.

Pattinson and Zendaya were photographed spending time together on The Drama’s set in Andover, Massachusetts back in November 2024. Zendaya and her real-life fiancé Tom Holland, whom PEOPLE confirmed she was engaged to back in January, were also photographed spending time in Boston earlier that month.
When Pattinson conducted an interview with French magazine Premiere that published in March, he gave some insight into his filming process with Zendaya for the new movie. “We had a scene together in it that was driving me crazy,” he said of working with Zendaya at the time. “I was desperately looking for its meaning, to the point of writing pages and pages of textual analysis… I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene in question.”

“I shared my doubts with her, I spoke for two hours, and blah blah blah, and after a while, very calmly, she finally made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning,” he added.
Pattinson and Zendaya’s new movie comes from filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli, who previously directed Nicolas Cage in 2023’s Dream Scenario. The Drama also stars Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Benton Gates.
The Drama is in theaters April 3, 2026.
