NEED TO KNOW
Connie Britton only has eyes for her longtime love, David Windsor.
Though the actress has kept details about her relationship private, the TV writer and producer has supported her at multiple events.
He accompanied Britton to the 2024 Emmys and attended a luncheon in May 2025 to celebrate her Hallmark reality series The Motherhood. At that event, the two even shared a rare moment of PDA when Windsor gave her a kiss on the cheek before the actress spoke to the audience.
After almost six years together, PEOPLE confirmed the Friday Night Lights alum and Windsor got engaged in October 2025.
So, who is Connie Britton’s fiancé? Here’s everything to know about David Windsor and his relationship with the actress.

Like Britton, Windsor also works in the entertainment industry as a TV writer and producer. His credits include hit shows like This Is Us, Not Dead Yet, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, Trophy Wife and The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.
According to his Instagram bio, he is “one half” of Windsor-Johnson Productions, a company he runs with producer and writer Casey Johnson. The duo worked together for over two decades after Johnson got him a job as a writer’s assistant for Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.
“David was working for an executive at 20th and hated it,” Johnson told the Television Academy in February 2017. “And that’s where we met. He came over to me and said ‘If this pilot goes, will you help me get a job as a writers’ assistant?’ So I’m responsible for everything good that ever happened to David!”

Britton and Windsor first crossed paths at a mutual friend’s 50th birthday party in November 2019. The Dirty John actress revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy that they were “set up.”
“So I’m talking to my friend and he looks past me and he sees David across the room and he is like, ‘There’s someone here you have to meet,’ ” she told host Andy Cohen in January 2023. “And it was like, I’ll never forget that moment because I turned around and I looked at who he was pointing at and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I wanna meet him.’ ”
Though the two didn’t meet that night — the actress joked that he seemed to know everyone at the party and she didn’t want to “walk up like a total dork box” — Britton told her friend to give Windsor her email address. He sent her a message the next day, and the rest was history.

Like Britton, Windsor is also a parent. She told Radio Andy that he’s been married before and has children, keeping specific details about his family private.
The actress also noted that Windsor had stepped “into that more paternal role” with her son, Yoby, whom she adopted from Ethiopia in 2011.
“I had no idea what I was even getting into,” Britton said during a January 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “It wasn’t so much ‘I can do this’ as much as I knew that I wanted to be a mom … I wasn’t in a relationship that felt like it was going to be a marriage relationship and so I was like, ‘What am I waiting for?’ I know I want to adopt, I can do this!”

In a March 2025 interview with Parade, Britton opened up about the kind of partnership she was looking for before she met Windsor — and how it goes beyond the idea of true love.
“What I was really looking for was a partnership where there’s constant growth, on both sides, and a sort of deepening of each other,” she told the outlet.
Britton added, “It’s not just like, ‘Oh, I found true love.’ It’s that I found somebody who I can walk on a journey with that is going to be constantly ever-changing.”
