Knightley played the lead role of Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice. Her portrayal of the second-oldest Bennet sister earned her Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.
“Pride & Prejudice was so amazing because I had been so obsessed with it since I was about 8,” Knightley told BBC Radio 1 in January 2019. “Also it was the first time that I’d worked or been around a load of people of my own age … so I think that was really fun because it was this group of girls that were all together and that was amazing.”
At the time, Knightley had already starred in a few cult-classic films, including Bend It Like Beckham, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Love Actually. She has gone on to star in several other successful films such as Atonement, Anna Karenina and The Imitation Game.

“There were moments I had a good time, but I wish I’d enjoyed it more,” he said. “I wish I was less worried about it. I just felt a bit miscast or I’m not dishy enough or I’m not, you know … but it worked out.”
Macfadyen later worked with Knightley on two other projects, Anna Karenina and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. He’s best known for his role as Tom Wambsgans on Succession, which ran for four seasons and earned him a Golden Globe.
