NEED TO KNOW
More than a decade later, the Bridesmaids cast is still making audiences laugh.
Premiering in 2011, the edgy comedy follows Annie Walker (Kristen Wiig) as her life unravels while serving as maid of honor for her best friend Lillian Donovan (Maya Rudolph), leading to a string of wedding planning mishaps and bridal party rivalries. More than a decade later, the cast has said the movie’s lasting success comes down to the chemistry and camaraderie they shared on screen.
“That group of women was the most magical thing ever,” Melissa McCarthy, who played bridesmaid Megan Price, told PEOPLE in April 2023. “Almost all of us were really good friends already. I think it was such a magical time.”
Following the film’s success, the cast has pursued a variety of projects and occasionally reunited along the way. Wiig and McCarthy teamed up for the 2016 Ghostbusters remake, while Rudolph and McCarthy played best friends in the 2018 comedy Life of the Party.
Though Wiig has been adamant that there’s no Bridesmaids sequel on the horizon, fans can relive the chaos now that the original film is streaming on Netflix.
So where is the cast now? Here’s a look at what the stars have been up to since the comedy first premiered.

After playing everyone’s favorite disaster-prone MOH (and co-writing the screenplay), Wiig took on a variety of comedic and serious roles. The Saturday Night Live alum starred in films like Wonder Woman 1984 and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, as well as series like Palm Royale.
She was named as one of TIME’s most influential people in the world for a second time in 2025.
Off-screen, she’s been in a long-term relationship with her husband, actor, writer and producer Avi Rothman since 2016. The couple welcomed twins via surrogate in 2020.

Rudolph hasn’t slowed down since playing the bride-to-be in Bridesmaids. The actress has lent her voice to multiple animated series like Big Mouth and Bless the Harts and starred in her own dark comedy series Loot.
When asked in April 2021 if a Bridesmaids sequel could ever happen, she joked to Entertainment Tonight that it “wouldn’t be called Bridesmaids — it would be called Old Ladies,” before adding that she would be “down.”
The fellow SNL alum shares four kids with her partner of over 20 years, director Paul Thomas Anderson.

After portraying Lillian’s rich and glamorous new friend, Helen Harris III, Rose Byrne went on to act in other hit comedy films like Neighbors and Spy (with former Bridesmaids costar McCarthy). She’s also starred in series like Physical and Platonic.
Byrne has been in a relationship with Emmy Award-winning actor Bobby Cannavale since 2012. The couple share two children, whom they welcomed in 2016 and 2017.

Following her breakout role in Bridesmaids, McCarthy has solidified her status as a comedy staple.
Her film credits include The Heat, Spy, Tammy and Identity Thief. The Emmy-winning actress also starred in the sitcom Mike & Molly until 2016 and appeared in the psychological drama Nine Perfect Strangers. In 2023, she played Ursula in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid.
McCarthy has been married to Ben Falcone since 2005, and they share two kids. He famously played Jon, the undercover air marshal in Bridesmaids, which marked the first of many films they’d act in together.

Wendi McLendon-Covey will forever be remembered by fans as Lillian’s cousin Rita, the bridesmaid who was all about the bachelorette party.
After the film, she appeared in other comedy films like Hello, My Name Is Doris, Blended and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.
However, the actress is probably best known for her iconic roles on the small screen, such as Deputy Clementine Johnson on Reno 911! and Beverly Goldberg on The Goldbergs. McLendon-Covey has also starred in the hit NBC sitcom St. Denis Medical since 2024.
She’s been married to her husband, Greg Covey, since 1996.
Ellie Kemper as Becca

The Office alum Ellie Kemper used her trademark enthusiasm to play Becca, one of Lillian’s friends from work. Following Bridesmaids, she took on a number of supporting roles in movies like 21 Jump Street and Sex Tape before starring in her own series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
The actress also played opposite Yellowstone’s Luke Grimes in the 2023 rom-com Happiness for Beginners.
In 2012, Kemper married comedy writer Michael Koman. The couple went on to welcome two sons in 2016 and 2019.

Since the film wrapped, the Irish actor has starred in comedies like The Sapphires, This Is 40 and St. Vincent. He’s also taken on more serious roles in dramas like Calvary and Molly’s Game.
In 2014, O’Dowd starred alongside James Franco in the Broadway production of Of Mice and Men and in his own 2023 comedy series, The Big Door Prize. He married British TV presenter Dawn Porter in 2012, and they share two sons.

After Bridesmaids, the British comedian appeared in a variety of films like Alice in Wonderland, Paddington and Wonka. He’s also had a recurring guest role in Doctor Who and hosted The Great British Baking Show until 2023.
In January 2025, he announced that he was starting a podcast with his former comedy partner, David Walliams, called Making A Scene.
Lucas was married to the late Kevin McGee from 2006 to 2008.
