NEED TO KNOW
Veronica is revealing a secret she’s been keeping from Micah.
In the Aug. 19 episode of Welcome to Plathville, Veronica became increasingly frustrated with Micah’s refusal to defend her against his family. It wasn’t long after his siblings, Amber, 15, and Ethan, 27, came to visit for the weekend that Veronica accused them of “gaslighting” her, leading to an explosive argument with Micah.
“I clearly look at the way my family, what they do, differently than you do,” he explained. “I perceive that they do things sincerely. They may flip-flop a couple times, and they may not apologize…”
“But the flip-flop, they blame it on me,” Veronica interrupted.

When Ethan said the discourse wasn’t “making anything any better,” Veronica insisted that she would “keep speaking up” until the issues were “resolved.”
“I’ve been trying to take Veronica’s side for forever, and I still am,” Micah said in his confessional. “But it’s getting damn hard.”
Veronica and Micah then took their discussion outside to continue it privately.
“I understand you’re really hurt, and I want nothing more than to try to fix this,” Micah said, but Veronica snapped back: “You don’t want to fix it. You don’t want to support me.”
She went on to accuse him and his family of not feeling “anything” and trying to suppress her emotions as well.
“This has been brewing inside for months,” she shared. “I had to smile and pretend it’s all okay at [Lydia’s] proposal where I’m not wanted, don’t want to be there. I felt attacked and I’m supposed to sit there, smile and be pretty and be like, oh, nothing’s wrong. No, that’s not true. That’s not the reality of things. That’s not my life. And I’m tired of shrinking and minimizing myself for people that do not value who I am as a person.”

Despite Micah wanting “to fight for” the relationship, Veronica emphasized his lack of loyalty when it comes to taking her side.
“You’re not going to blindly back me,” she said. “Not about something that’s clearly wrong,” Micah replied.
Just as Ethan and Amber walked outside, Veronica declared, “Oh, like you’re cheating?”
“Tread lightly. Tread lightly,” she added before asking the two to leave.
When Micah continued to defend his family’s intentions, saying they aren’t trying to be in the middle of the relationship, tensions escalated.
“You guys all call me a liar and I’m making up s—,” she claimed. “It’s a character mark.”
“I don’t think my family’s trying to mark your character at all,” Micah pushed back, to which Veronica responded, “You’re not emotionally intelligent.”
Upset that she was “talking so far down” to him, Micah asked why Veronica was acting like he was “so far below” her. Her answer: “You are.”
After going back and forth, Veronica pointed out that “History repeats itself,” bringing up Ethan’s ex-wife, Olivia, whom the Plath family also disliked.
“I don’t think you and Olivia are exactly alike,” Micah noted. “We’re not, but we’re getting the same treatment,” Veronica explained.
She then dropped a major bombshell: “I’m going to tell you something. I’ve been talking to her for months. I know everything.”
“Everybody told me the bad guy was Olivia — she’s the only one that’s looked out for me,” Veronica continued.
Micah admitted that he felt disrespected by Veronica going behind his back to talk to “someone who is no longer in my family, who doesn’t really like my family.”
“Finding out the truth was the issue and finding out that two very different strong women have been accused, blamed, gaslit by the same group and they led us to believe that we were the problem,” Veronica shouted.
When Micah told her she was “reading way too far into this,” Veronica told him to “grow a pair” and walked away, leaving Micah contemplating the future of their relationship.

Micah later told Ethan, who said the news made him “angry” and “frustrated.”
“Veronica’s trying to look for validation in someone else that she feels like has also been wronged by my family or has issues with my family,” he claimed. “So the only thing Veronica’s doing is trying to justify her own actions instead of trying to make things right.”
“Ethan has a lot of great insight,” Micah acknowledged. “He went through, as he puts it, hell. And I don’t, I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to put Veronica through that either. I want Veronica to be with someone who loves her the way that she needs to be loved. If I can’t do that, then maybe we’re not for each other.”
