Tom Hopper and the rest of the The Umbrella Academy cast are sticking together through thick and thin.
Hopper, 40, exclusively told PEOPLE on Aug. 4 that the bond the cast formed during their time making the hit Netflix show remains strong more than a year after the series finale came out.
“I just saw David Castañeda like a few days ago. Yeah, we went and met up for steak in Manhattan here. It’s great to catch up with him,” Hopper says at the New York City premiere of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.
“I text Robert Sheehan all the time. I’m always in touch with Emmy [Raver-Lampman],” he adds. “We had something special on that show.”

Hopper, Castañeda, Sheehan, Raver-Lampman, Elliot Page, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, and Ritu Arya starred as members of the super powered Hargreeves family, who repeatedly teamed up to try and save the world in the hit Netflix series.
The Umbrella Academy, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by writer Gerard Way and illustrator Gabriel Bá, wrapped with its fourth and final season in August 2024.

Hopper says he’s found that same kind of camaraderie again in his new show, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.
“I feel so lucky that the shows that I’ve been a part of — and now moving on to this one and being able to create those kind of friendships again … I feel like I’ve got another family of people that I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so lucky to have this,’ ” he explains. “Yeah, it’s great.”
The strength of the cast members real-life bond was evident at the premiere of the show’s final season, where they reflected on their time together.
“It’s definitely bittersweet,” Raver-Lampman told PEOPLE at the time. “I think it’s been an amazing six-plus years for all of us, and we’ve really become a family in real life. I think that’s the beautiful thing to walk away from this experience with, is that I have friends for life.”
Gallagher added, “It’s been a long time and it’s been a privilege to get to go through life through all of this. It’s been an absolute joy.”

Still, even as production wrapped in 2023, the cast remained committed to keeping their bond strong.
“We have the best time. We really, really do,” Raver-Lampman said. “I’ll miss it being so the show brings us together. Now we actually have to work at it, because we’re all over. We’ve got people in London and Ireland and New York and L.A. and Seattle. I think it’s going to be a little bit more work, but it’s worth it because we are family.”
