NEED TO KNOW
Timothée Chalamet is taking some time to get cozy with an adorable puppy in the midst of his Marty Supreme press tour.
In a new Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Dune star, 29, shared a photo dump captioned “puppy🥹 MARTY SUPREME CHRISTMAS DAY,” in which he can be seen cuddling up with a tiny brown pup on the couch. The actor is wearing a black T-shirt and has a buzz cut.
The actor did not share the pup’s name or breed, and it’s unclear whether it’s a new pet or a sweet new friend Chalamet spent time with while promoting his upcoming film.
Other photos in the carousel offer a glimpse into the press tour and Chalamet’s personal life. In one snap, Chalamet sports Christmas pajamas, and in another, he spends time outdoors in a pink hat, a white tank, and sunglasses.
In a screenshot of a text exchange with his mother, the actor promises to snag her a coveted Marty Supreme jacket ahead of the film’s premiere.
Chalamet stars in the titular role in writer-director Josh Safdie’s upcoming film. Per a synopsis, the story follows “a young man with a dream no one respects” — a dream to dominate the unique world of ping-pong. Chalamet’s character is loosely inspired by real-life Jewish American table tennis pioneer Marty Reisman, who died in 2012.

“In spirit, this is the most who I was that I’ve had to play a role,” the 29-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published in October. “This is who I was before I had a career.”

Chalamet went on to reveal that he had quietly been training to master ping-pong for years before filming Marty Supreme, even while playing Bob Dylan in the Oscar-nominated film A Complete Unknown in 2024.

“Everything I was working on, it was this secret: I had a table in London while I was making Wonka. On Dune 2, I had a table in Budapest, Jordan. I had a table in Abu Dhabi. I had a table at the Cannes Film Festival for The French Dispatch,” Chalamet told The Hollywood Reporter.
Marty Supreme hits theaters on Dec. 25.
