Teyana Taylor is making her daughter proud.
The actress — who currently stars in the Hulu show All’s Fair alongside Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Niecy Nash-Betts — recalled teaching her castmates some slang while chatting exclusively with PEOPLE at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards on Nov. 3.
Taylor, 34, tells PEOPLE that she thinks her daughter would be impressed.
“Even though I’m an old soul, I taught them which [gesture] is ‘clock it’ and ‘ate it,’ ” she says, referring to touching your pointer finger to your thumb and touching your middle finger to your thumb, respectively.
“So I’m proud of myself. I feel like my daughter would’ve been proud because she taught me that, so I taught them that,” she adds.
Taylor is mom to daughters Rue Rose, 5, and Iman “Junie” Tayla, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Iman Shumpert.
Taylor is the youngest castmate on the star-studded legal drama, which follows a team of high-powered female divorce attorneys who leave a male-dominated firm to open their own practice. The musician-turned-actress plays Milan, an aspiring lawyer and mentee to Kardashian’s Allura.

“Milan is the baby of the group and has stripes to earn and is figuring out how to navigate it,” Taylor previously told PEOPLE during an exclusive cast interview. “Allura is gracious enough to help her navigate, even though Milan has made mistakes. I think it’s important because it shows community and shows we won’t let men come between that community.”
During the cast interview, Kardashian, 45, revealed that the women forged a close bond behind the cameras during a group dinner before filming began.
