Kailyn Lowry is defending her actions as a mom of seven.
The Teen Mom 2 alum addressed what she called “the assumption” that she puts romantic relationships over her kids after moving her boyfriend of less than one year Isaac “Ike” Knighton into the family home.
“Contrary to that, I would say I did think about what kind of person he is before I brought him into the rest of my kids’ lives,” Kailyn said in a Jan. 18 Patreon video, per multiple outlets. “It’s not like I met him on Tinder. I’m not saying there are unsafe people on Tinder, but I didn’t just meet him for the first time and introduce him to my kids.”
Kailyn started dating Ike, who she said she’s known “since pretty much high school,” after breaking up Elijah Scott last summer. She and Elijah share son Rio, 3, as well as 2-year-old twins Verse and Valley.
“I don’t think I expected to have a full-blown relationship,” Kailyn continued of Ike, “but after the first time we hung out, both of us just knew what it was.”
And having “been in toxic environments in the past,” the 33-year-old felt her immediate connection with Ike was different.
