NEED TO KNOW
Taylor Swift has some things to say about TV … as in television, not Taylor’s Version.
The pop superstar, 35, appeared on the Monday, Oct. 6 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she broke down her current rotation of series during a rapid-fire line of questioning from host Jimmy Fallon. During the interview portion — where the late-night host asked Swift to name-drop her last movie, concert and more — the 14-time Grammy winner revealed exactly what she’s been viewing in her free time.
“Oh, there’s two I’m on right now,” Swift said, as Fallon asked her if The Gilded Age was one of them. “I love it, but that’s not the last one I [watched].”
“The Girlfriend is a good one,” she said. “And The Paper is a good one.”

The Girlfriend, a Prime Video thriller starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke, premiered on Sept. 10 and follows a woman whose “perfect life unravels” when her son brings home “a girlfriend who changes everything.”
As for The Paper, the spinoff of the iconic series The Office made its way to Peacock last month as well, following an Ohio newsroom in its attempt to revive local journalism. It stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore and Office alum Oscar Nuñez, among others.
Swift’s Office ties run deep. The musician — who apparently once described Dawson’s Creek and The Office as her “quarantine binge shows” — has previously parodied the mockumentary series in 2011 for a behind-the-scenes clip of her “Ours” music video.

During a 2016 interview with Vogue, Swift revealed that her all-time favorite TV show was actually Friends, with her current favorite at that time being Dateline. She’s also a longtime fan of Law & Order: SVU, having named one of her cats Olivia Benson after star Mariska Hargitay’s character.
Elsewhere during her latest appearance on Fallon, Swift discussed another major TV event: the Super Bowl halftime show. The pair went through a list of rumors on air, giving Swift the opportunity to confirm or deny them, as Fallon asked about the “rumor that [she’s] turned down the Super Bowl ‘because of performance footage.” She responded with a “no.”
“Here’s the thing,” she said. “Jay-Z has always been very good to me. Our teams are very close. They sometimes will call and say how does she feel about … and that’s not an official offer or a conference room conversation. We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.”
She then touched on watching her fiancé, Travis Kelce, play and if that has anything to do with a potential performance consideration. “That is violent chess,” Swift said.
“That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. The whole season I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field,” she continued. “Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be. I think we should do two verses of ‘Shake it Off’ into ‘Blank Space’ into ‘Cruel Summer’ would be great.'”
“This is nothing to do with Travis, he would love for me to do it. I’m just too locked in.”
