Suzanne Rogers has become a true daytime icon thanks to her character, Maggie Horton, on Days of Our Lives.
For an impressive 52 years, she has brought warmth, drama and unforgettable storylines to fans around the world. The 82-year-old’s connection to Maggie feels as timeless as the Horton family legacy itself.

“Sixty is wonderful. I mean, not many shows can say that,” Rogers tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I love it. It’s my whole life and my home for a long time.”
While discussing her future on the show, Rogers was refreshingly candid.
“Oh, listen. If they say ‘bye,’ I’ll go – I had a good run,” she laughs, adding that her retirement might involve visiting her sister in North Carolina.
But not to worry – Rogers says she’s not going anywhere as long as she has a say in things.
“I’m not going until they lock me out,” she emphasizes.

Earlier this summer, rumors of Rogers’ departure from the show had fans concerned that Maggie’s storyline might be coming to an end.
However, a spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE in July 2025 that the speculations “could not be further from the truth.”
Since it first hit the small screen in 1965, the show has aired more than 15,000 episodes, and was recently renewed for two more seasons, ensuring it will air through season 63.
“Maggie & Suzanne are integral to the show’s history, present storylines, and now, on the heels of our pick-up, the future!” the spokesperson continued. “Neither are going anywhere.”
Despite a “rough” summer after her colon cancer diagnosis, Rogers is now in remission and feeling “much better.”
Rogers notes that she is no longer stressed about “the small things,” and is determined to continue bringing Maggie to life for devoted viewers.
