NEED TO KNOW
Mere hours before Survivor celebrated the 25th anniversary of its 2000 premiere on May 31, the show’s official Instagram account posted about Taylor Swift.
The eve of the milestone anniversary coincidentally was the same day news broke that Swift had bought back her music catalog. Reacting to the music news on May 30, Survivor’s Instagram account shared a memorable season 46 moment involving castaway Charlie Davis proving he’s a Swiftie.
“He’d be so happy today 🥹🥹🥹,” Survivor captioned the Instagram Stories post of Davis, who is currently without a phone or news updates because he flew to Fiji just days before Swift’s announcement to compete in the show’s 50th season of returning fan-favorite players.

In the “Taylor Swift vs. Metallica” segment, Davis and fellow season 46 finalist Ben Katzman, a huge Metallica fan, challenged each other to name the most songs by Swift, 35, and the heavy metal band.

Proving how big of a Swiftie he is, Davis defeated Katzman.
Davis will now be returning to the island for Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans, which premieres in February 2026.
For Survivor 50, viewers have been voting on how certain aspects of the game will play out, including twists, tribe colors, tribe swaps, immunity necklaces, supplies, the final four challenge, whether castaways should be given rice to eat, whether the fire-making should be axed and more.
After sharing the Swift-infused Instagram Stories post, the Survivor Instagram account marked the show’s 25th anniversary by sharing a clip of the opening segment from season 1, which premiered on May 31, 2000.
“We’re taking you all back to season one, episode one, opening scene. This is where it all began 🔥,” the celebratory caption read.
