Superman star Sara Sampaio is dishing out details on the movie’s cast group chat.
When Sampaio, 33, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter for a story about her role in the blockbuster superhero movie, the model-turned-actress revealed that the Superman group chat is “called the ‘Superman Gang.’ ”
“The whole group chat is just us bullying Beck [Bennett],” Sampaio said with a laugh. “He can take it. But it’s been very active this weekend; everyone is just really excited.”
Sampaio, who pivoted from a career in modeling to acting in the late 2010s, plays the selfie-taking character Eve Teschmacher in director James Gunn’s Superman movie. Bennett, the former Saturday Night Live star, portrays The Daily Planet newspaper employee Steve Lombard among the movie’s larger ensemble cast, which includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as the supervillain Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lanern and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.

Sampaio’s character Eve is seen taking selfies throughout many of the major events of Superman. “I really don’t take many selfies in the wild, and after this movie, I don’t know if I want to take a selfie anytime soon,” Sampaio told THR, as she estimated that she snapped “over a thousand photos” of herself during filming.
“Since they started that Instagram, ‘Influencers in the Wild,’ I’m scared of showing up on it; Eve would a hundred percent be on it,” Sampaio added. “But if anyone wants to take a selfie with me, I’ll happily do that. It’s part of the character, and I’m so happy people are embracing her and her selfies.”

Sampaio celebrated the movie’s release and majorly successful opening weekend at the box office with an Instagram post on Sunday, July 13 that featured one of her character’s selfies, as well as snapshots from the movie’s shoot in Svalbard, Norway.
“it feels so nice to finally post some bts photos from the incredible trip we did to Svalbard to film the outside of the fortress of solitude or the ‘real antartica’ like Eve calls it!” Sampaio wrote in the caption to that post. “Obviously had to start with an Eve selfie 🤪🤳”
“Filming this movie with these incredible people was the most special experience of my life, and almost brought a husky home,” she added in her caption; her photo carousel included multiple pictures of Sampaio with dogs in Svalbard.
Superman is in theaters now.
