Sophie Turner’s costar has her back after she was subject to mom shaming over the weekend.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, the actress’s Trust costar Gianni Paolo, 29, spoke with Page Six Radio and defended Turner, also 29, after she received backlash on Instagram for posting photos from an Oasis concert.
“She’s very mature as a human being,” Paolo said of Turner. He also noted that her two daughters, Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, who she shares with ex Joe Jonas, were on set with her “most of the time.”
“She’s a great mother,” he said, saying that it was “crazy” she was shamed for going to the concert.

After Turner posted several photos and a video of herself having fun at an Oasis concert on Instagram over the weekend — in which she could be seen smiling and kissing a photo of a member of the band — one commenter left a not-so-nice message on her post, causing the mom of two to clap back.
“Lmfao i think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” the person wrote in a comment shared on Aug. 7.
Turner personally responded to the comment the same day, writing, “Ah I’m so sorry sometimes I forget some people can’t think for themselves.”
She added, “So…. Get this….There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”
Back in September 2023, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage. This past July, a source told PEOPLE that the former couple has hit a “peaceful groove” as co-parents.
Turner and Jonas “have gotten into a co-parenting rhythm that really works and they’ve figured out how to communicate,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively.
“There’s a mutual respect now, and the girls are their priority,” the source said. “Joe and Sophie have hit a surprisingly peaceful groove, and they’ve maintained an amicable relationship from two continents, which isn’t easy, but they’ve managed to pull it off.”
According to the source, “Things between them are better than it’s ever been since their split.”
The source’s insight reflects Jonas’ recent comments about co-parenting during Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour in Hollywood, Fla. In a TikTok video, Jonas could be heard telling Shetty that he has a “beautiful co-parenting relationship” with Turner.
“I have a beautiful co-parenting relationship that I’m really grateful for,” he said. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”
“As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them,” he continued. “I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence, and know that they can do literally anything they want.”
