Starks … or Lannisters?
Sophie Turner, 29, recently filmed a gothic horror movie, The Dreadful, with her former Game of Thrones costar Kit Harington, she shared on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Turner and Harington — who played siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, respectively — discovered they had a few love scenes in the film, which was a nauseating prospect for the pair.
Turner received the script for The Dreadful, which she is also producing, and began reading through to get a feel for the characters. When the director asked her who she thought would be a good fit for the film, Turner “immediately” thought of Harington.

After she sent Harington the script, they both agreed it was a great project. But Harington did have some reservations, Turner said, recalling his response: “Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really f—— weird, Soph.”
So, she took a closer look at the pages, and saw nothing but “kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex.”
“I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot … that’s my brother,'” Turner said. “But it’s such a good script that he was like, ‘We kind of have to do it.'”
Unfortunately for them, the first scene they filmed was one in which their characters kissed.
“We are both retching,” Turner recalled. “Like really, it is vile — it was the worst.”

Turner compared the scene with Harington with another recent skin-crawling scene (literally) in her new movie Trust, in which real cockroaches and rats were set loose in a small room with her and eventually began crawling on her arms and legs. Kissing Harington was indeed worse than the roaches, she concluded.

Turner and Harington starred in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones — though their scenes together were primarily towards the show’s later seasons. Both played children of Ned Stark (Sean Bean) and, at the start of the show, had grown up alongside each other with their siblings Robb (Richard Madden), Aria (Maisie Williams), Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Rickon (Art Parkinson).
The Dreadful does not have a release date just yet. In the meantime, Turner and Harington’s former series Game of Thrones can be streamed on HBO Max.
