NEED TO KNOW
Sombr’s recent concert came with an unexpected moment.
During his Wednesday, Nov. 5 show at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, N.Y., the musician — whose real name is Shane Michael Boose — was performing on stage when he revealed he chipped his tooth, PEOPLE can confirm.
Sombr, 20, had finished performing his song “Come Closer” when he revealed that he had chipped his tooth for the third time.

“Let’s f—ing go. That means this is a good show,” the “Undressed” hitmaker told the crowd.
Sombr then told the crowd that he wished he was playing an upbeat song during that moment.
“That would be so fun,” he said. “That’s how much I love you New York. That’s how much I love you. I chipped my tooth for you, and then they still tried cancel me.”
Later in the show, he remarked, “I chipped my tooth for you, New York.”
Sombr has shared his experiences chipping his tooth on social media in the past.
In March, the “Dime” artist shared a TikTok video of him performing his song “Back to Friends” on stage when the incident happened.
“when my tooth fell out performing back to friends,” Sombr wrote over the video.
He captioned the footage, “should I keep it?”
The mishap happened when he jumped on stage during the song.
While he noted he felt “so bad, bro” he noted “it’s rock ‘n’ roll.”
In a June interview with the Capital Evening Show, Sombr opened up about his experiences chipping his teeth.
“On my last tour of North America, I chipped my tooth twice. The first time in Los Angeles I jumped off this ledge and I hit the mic into my tooth, like the metal mic when I landed, and it just chipped right away,” he said, per On the Radio UK.
It wasn’t until Sombr got off the stage that he realized the issue.
“Something felt weird, and I just felt a hole in between my two teeth, and I started freaking out. We were all running on stage searching for it,” he said.
In April, Sombr opened up to PEOPLE about his path to becoming an artist.
“Ever since I started making music, I was like, ‘I want to find a way to do music full time,’ so that was always in my head, always. I would be in school, I’d be in the back of class either sleeping or on my iPad, writing music,” he said at the time.
Sombr is currently in the midst of The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour in support of his 2025 album I Barely Know Her.
