NEED TO KNOW
Get ready to laugh, because Saturday Night Live season 51 is right around the corner.
The sketch comedy series announced the hosts and musical guests for its first batch of episodes on Thursday, Sept. 18, giving fans a taste of what to expect when the show returns this fall.
Hosting the season 51 premiere on Oct. 4 will be Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny with rapper Doja Cat as the musical guest.
This makes Bad Bunny a two-time host and is Doja Cat’s SNL debut as a musical guest.
The Oct. 11 show will be hosted by SNL alum Amy Poehler with musical guest Role Model.

While this is Role Model’s SNL debut as a musical guest, it’s Poehler’s third time hosting — following two times as an individual and one time with fellow SNL alum Tina Fey.
Viewers will get a double dose of Sabrina Carpenter on the Oct. 18 episode, as the “Manchild” singer is pulling double duty as both host and musical guest.
Carpenter previously appeared on SNL as a musical guest, but this will be the pop star’s first time as host.
SNL went through a cast shakeup following its landmark 50th season.
Cast members Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Michael Longfellow, Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim all announced their exits in recent weeks.
Wakim had been around for just one season while both Walker and Longfellow had been on the show for three seasons. Most shocking were Gardner and Nwodim’s departures, with the comedians being on the show for eight and seven seasons, respectively.

SNL also added some fresh faces to the mix for season 51, with Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska all joining as featured players alongside returnees Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.
They will join returning cast members Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernández, James Austin Johnson, Colin Jost, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson and Bowen Yang.
SNL won 15 Emmys this year for its milestone 50th season and the 50th anniversary special.
