Lloyd took a tumble while trying to show off one of his signature dance moves onstage.
During his Nov. 21 performance in Birmingham, Alabama, the R&B singer was dancing to his song, “Girls Around the World,” when he seemed to suddenly trip over his own foot and fall to the floor face-first, as seen in videos shared to social media.
In the moments after the fall, Lloyd rolled over to lie on his back while his team rushed over to help pull him up. Luckily, he was able to laugh it off and continue singing like nothing had even happened.
Once he got off stage, however, the musician addressed the mishap and explained exactly what had happened.
“I fell, that’s what happened,” Lloyd quipped in a video shared to Instagram. “I tripped. I was doing my signature slide, it’s the coolest smoothest s— in the show, bro.”
The video then cuts to a few slow-motion clips of Lloyd landing on his chin during the dramatic fall before he went on to joke, “I crashed, bro, and I feel like all my cool points is out the window.”

As for why Lloyd had the crowd so concerned? After he faceplanted on the stage and slowly turned around, it wasn’t immediately clear if he was laughing or grimacing in pain.

“For some reason, whenever I fall, I just gotta lay there, bro,” he added in the video. “I just can’t get right back up and act like, ‘Oh s—.’ I gotta lay in it. And that’s why they ran out there.”
Lloyd has been accompanying Jagged Edge on their 17-city Cuffing Season Tour throughout North America, which kicked off on Nov. 6 in Ontario.
“Cuffing Season Tour got me out here falling for Birmingham … face first,” Lloyd captioned the post, before adding in a separate comment, “I can’t believe this s— lol. This almost feels karmatic. And right when everyone was gassing me up, ‘Oh he looks so nice,’ ‘His mic was ON,’ ‘I love him in a suit,’ ‘His show was rocking’… gravity sends me back down to earth lol.”
He concluded, “There is NOTHING more embarrassing than falling down in front a bunch of people, but there is nothing better than being able to laugh at yourself and not be so serious all the time.”
