Simon Cowell is opening up about his unique health journey — including his experience visiting a wellness clinic where they “rinse” and “filter” his blood.
“I go to this place, this wellness clinic, where they actually take your blood, they rinse it, they filter it and then they put it back into your body,” Cowell, 66, told The Sun. “You do all these tests, and they tell you your age, so I’ve actually aged backwards by eating better, more exercise, less stress, and certain supplements. My brain is still there, I still have the energy.”
Cowell did not specify which procedure he underwent to “rinse” and “filter” his blood, but a process called apheresis has become popular among celebrities in recent months. In July, Orlando Bloom shared that he’d undergone a blood “cleaning” treatment in an effort to rid his body of microplastics.
According to The Times, there have been “no meaningful studies” proving the procedure’s efficacy.
The former X Factor judge went on to explain that he also considered having his body cryogenically frozen so he can be awakened in the future, but that he declined when he “found out they chop your head off, so you come back in 2,000 years as a floating head.”
In a 2022 interview, Cowell previously opened up about his plastic surgery procedures. He said he did had so much filler and Botox injections that he no longer recognized himself.
“There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far,” Cowell told The Sun at the time. “I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day and didn’t recognize it as me.”
Cowell decided that he looked “like something out of a horror film,” and it was starting to scare his 8-year-old son Eric.
“Eric was in hysterics,” he said, and that led him to quit the injectables. “Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”
