Sheryl Lee Ralph is letting fans in on a little secret.
As the Abbott Elementary star stepped out at the Emmys 2025 at the Peacock Theater, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, she had a simple explanation for what keeps her and husband Vincent Hughes so happy after 20 years together.
“Communication,” Sheryl told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: 2025 Emmys red carpet Sept. 14. “I tell everybody, try not to go to sleep with anger on your heart, to try to talk it out with each other because nine times out of ten, you’re both worth it.” (See every star on the Emmys 2025 red carpet.)
Of course, Sheryl—who is nominated alongside The Bear’s Liza Colon Zayas, Hacks’ Hannah Einbinder, The Studio’s Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O’Hara, Shrinking’s Jessica Williams and her Abbott Elementary costar Janelle James—also admitted she has a leg up in how much affection she has for the Pennsylvania State Senator.
