Sharon Stone is happy for her longtime friend Eric Dane.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Nobody 2 on Monday, Aug. 11, Stone expressed her excitement for Dane getting his role on Euphoria before his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
“Eric and I have been friends for a long time. A long time,” she said. “And I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on Euphoria. So he would come over to my house and bring me gluten-free cookies, and we’d sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job.”

“So it means the world to me that he got that job in time,” she continued, getting emotional.
Stone will be joining Dane on Euphoria for the show’s long-awaited third season.
The Basic Instinct actress didn’t reveal who she’ll be playing on Euphoria, but she did confirm that she wouldn’t be playing herself.
“We’re not having any discussions about what’s happening on that set, except to say that I couldn’t be more delighted to be a part of it,” she teased.
While we don’t know who Stone will be playing, we do know Dane will be back as Cal Jacobs, the father of Jacob Elordi’s Nathaniel “Nate” Jacobs, a man whose closeted sexuality causes a rift between him and his family.
Dane first shared his ALS diagnosis exclusively with PEOPLE in April.
“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” the Grey’s Anatomy alum shared at the time. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
Dane, who is married to Rebecca Gayheart, with whom he shares two daughters, expressed that he feels “fortunate” to be able to work and was “looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria” to film season 3.

“I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time,” he added.
Since his diagnosis, Dane has appeared on the show Countdown and revealed that he has no plans to quit working, despite sharing that he has lost control over his right arm.
