NEED TO KNOW
Selena Gomez has seemingly responded to Hailey Bieber’s latest comments about their rumored feud.
In a recent cover interview for WSJ. Magazine’s Innovators Issue, the Rhode Beauty founder, 28, declined to directly answer a question about comparisons between her brand and Gomez’s Rare Beauty, following interference from a publicist, but later told the outlet it’s “annoying” to be pitted against people.
Gomez, 33, then seemingly responded to Hailey’s comments in a since-deleted social media post on Oct. 17. “Just leave the girl alone,” the newly married star wrote over a plain background on her Instagram Stories, per E! News.
The singer continued, “She can say whatever she wants. Doesn’t affect [my] life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me. There is room for everyone.”
“And hopefully we can all stop,” Gomez concluded the social media post.

Hailey’s WSJ. Magazine interview, published Oct. 14, was conducted just hours ahead of Rhode launching at Sephora, where Gomez’s Rare Beauty is sold.
During the conversation, in which she was asked about potential comparisons between the two brands, the Rhode founder told the newspaper, “It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that.”
“When people want to see you a certain way and they’ve made up a story about you in their minds, it’s not up to you to change that,” added Hailey.
The comments come amid longtime rumors of a feud between the beauty moguls, which stems from Gomez’s past romance with Hailey’s now-husband Justin Bieber. The “Love On” singer, who tied the knot with Benny Blanco on Sept. 27, famously dated Justin, 31, in the stars’ younger years.
The narratives of Hailey and Gomez’s alleged feud have persisted over the years, despite both making public attempts to end them, including when they posed for a photo together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ annual gala in 2022.

Hailey — who welcomed son Jack Blues, 1, with Justin last year — has also previously slammed fan theories about a “made-up” feud between her and Gomez, calling them not only “vile” and “disgusting,” but also potentially dangerous.
“I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez,” Hailey said while appearing on Bloomberg’s The Circuit in 2023. “This is not about this pitting between two women — it’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted, and perpetuated narratives that can be really dangerous.”
“I hate it,” the Rhode founder later added, referring to the narrative of two women being pitted against each other because of a man. “I’ve hated it since the beginning, and it goes back to being misunderstood. Time and time again, I say there is no issue, and it’s so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man.”
