Samara Weaving has another bloody affair ahead of her.
PEOPLE has the exclusive first look at Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the anticipated sequel to the 2019 survive-the-night horror hit.
Again directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the filmmaking duo who go by Radio Silence and are also known for the recent Scream reboots, Ready or Not 2 catches up with Grace after the events of her killer wedding night.
“We never dreamed Ready or Not would connect with people the way it has over the past few years and feel so honored to get to step back into Grace’s world,” Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin say.
The directors add that returning to film the movie with Weaving was “much more emotional than we expected.”
“The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways,” they say, “and to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us.”

Weaving, 33, echoes that the reunion was emotional for everyone.
“I was a bit nervous and not sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited,” she says. “The entire character came flooding back. We were all quite emotional in that fitting, actually. Revisiting the character is one thing but working with that crew again was the best part.”

Joining the cast this time are Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Sean Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and David Cronenberg.
“We can’t say enough about how much we love the ensemble in this movie,” Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin say. “We think everyone brought something genuinely special to their roles, and we’re so thrilled with how scary, funny and bizarre this cast of characters are.”

Weaving admits that “running around together covered in blood” brings costars “even closer” over the course of production. “I’d hang out with them every day if I could,” she says of her scene partners. “I adore them all. Truly. That’s not a lie.”
Newton, 28, says Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin wrote her character specifically with her in mind after they worked together on 2024’s vampire movie Abigail.
The actress says her character “is a little like me” and jokes that she “causes some problems — but the fun kind, I promise.”

Additionally, Weaving “welcomed me to this franchise with so much support and excitement,” says Newton. “This cast is a dream. I want to work with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Samara Weaving over and over again. Scream queens unite!”

The directors tease that Ready or Not 2 “goes hand in hand with the first in an unexpected yet seamless way.”
“It’s exciting to see Grace into a new f—ed-up situation that deepens her story and her character, and we wanted to make sure that this movie wasn’t just more of the same,” they explain. “We put a ton of love into this movie to make it a worthy sequel that we’re hoping fans of the first movie — and people who are getting to know Grace for the first time — will really love.”

As Weaving describes it, the sequel is “so unhinged, absolutely cooked — you’re gonna love it.” She jokes, “Those sicko writers came up with a way in that’s somehow both a natural progression and very surprising.”
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is in theaters spring 2026.
