Sabrina Carpenter is keeping her response to a negative comment Short n’ Sweet.
On Monday, June 16, Carpenter, 26, responded to an X user who reposted the singer’s new Man’s Best Friend album cover, replying, “Does she have a personality outside of sex?”
The “Espresso singer” then reshared the post, responding, “girl yes and it is goooooood.”
On June 11, Carpenter announced the release of her seventh studio album, alongside its cover art. In the image, the singer is on her hands and knees as a man grabs her by the hair. She’s dressed in a black, short dress and black heels.
“My new album, “Man’s Best Friend” 🐾 is out on August 29, 2025,” Carpenter captioned the upload. “i can’t wait for it to be yours x Pre-order now.” The lead single from the upcoming project, “Manchild,” was released on June 5.

For her June cover story with Rolling Stone, Carpenter spoke with the outlet about the mixed reactions she received for her song “Juno” and her performance of it on her Short n’ Sweet tour. When the song plays on tour, she acts out a different sexual position for the line: “Wanna try out some freaky positions? Have you ever tried this one?”
“It’s always so funny to me when people complain,” Carpenter said of the mixed reactions.
She added, “They’re like, ‘All she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it. It’s in my show.”
Carpenter explained that her performance of “Juno” doesn’t solely contain sexual positions; however, that’s the portion of the show that causes lots of online chatter.

“There’s so many more moments than the ‘Juno’ positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on,” she reasoned. “I can’t control that. If you come to the show, you’ll [also] hear the ballads, you’ll hear the more introspective numbers.”
Carpenter then explained the importance of not taking those headlines seriously.

“I find irony and humor in all of that, because it seems to be a recurring theme. I’m not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes,” she explained.
Carpenter released her Short n’ Sweet album on Aug. 23, 2024, featuring hit singles “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” “Bed Chem” and more. At the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, the singer took home Best Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso.”
Man’s Best Friend will be released on Aug. 29.
