Anna Faris and Regina Hall are officially back on board for another Scary Movie sequel.
The pair will reunite in the upcoming Scary Movie 6 after sitting out the fifth film that was released in 2013. “They’re back,” Marlon Wayans wrote on his Instagram Stories Friday, Aug. 15, sharing a throwback photo of Faris and Hall in the 2000 original.
In a joint statement to Deadline, Faris, 48, and Hall, 54, said, “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again.)”
Scary Movie 6 will be directed by Michael Tiddes. Keenen Ivory Wayans, who wrote and directed the first film and its 2001 sequel, is back as producer. His brothers Marlon and Shawn co-wrote and starred in those first two as Shorty and Ray.

Marlon, 53, revealed in October 2024 that he and his brothers would be returning to the horror-spoof franchise. “WE’RE BACK!!! After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for … a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise!”
“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again,” the brothers told Deadline about making their return to the franchise. “This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago. We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again.”

“We look forward to working with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring these laughs to theaters, where they belong. It’s a double reunion,” they added.
Prior to that, in July 2024, Faris told PEOPLE she’d only return to the comedy franchise if Hall came back too. “I would love to work with Regina again. I just love her so much,” said Faris, who starred in four Scary Movie films with Hall. “We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!”
The House Bunny star added, “I love that franchise. It was like my bootcamp, my beginnings.”
Scary Movie 6 is in theaters June 12, 2026.
