Heather Gay is setting the record straight.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 51 — who has been vocal about denouncing Mormonism and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — called out her fellow Housewives co-stars for claiming the faith, despite not wearing the required sacred garments, also known as temple garments, underneath their clothing.
“None of my castmates wear their sacred garments, and I’d like to point out that very rarely, all the other shows on Mormonism, the people are not wearing them even though they’re supposed to be,” she claimed during her appearance on the Sept. 17 episode of SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. “So I’m just gonna call them out right now.”

Gay elaborated on what the garments are, explaining that the items are often made from “polyester or cotton or mesh.” Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wear the items as a way of expressing their commitment to God.
“They’re basically a t-shirt with boob cups and then bike shorts,” Gay continued. “So it’s to cover your shoulders and your clothing to your knees. So you can’t wear anything above your knee cap and you really shouldn’t show your shoulders.”
Though the garments typically show through clothing, Gay said that there has been advancements in temple garment fashion that allow for comfort in hotter climates, including skin-baring garments showing off shoulders and arms.

“They just recently released a new version for hot climates that allow you to wear a tank top. So now in Salt Lake City, there’s this huge underground railroad of secret garments coming from like Barbados to the women of Salt Lake City,” the reality star said. “They’re getting garments from the distribution centers in hot climates, bringing them to Salt Lake City and distributing them to active members here who are now on the streets of Salt Lake City, wearing their garments in a tank top version.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Gay opened up about her former hairstylist, Tenesha Lockett, and former castmate Monica Garcia being behind the Reality Von Tease account that made fun of the RHOSLC cast, likening the situation to a “snake eating its head.”

“There was no world that she would’ve been in our world and been our friend. And how are we supposed to process friendship with someone that was never our friend to begin with, was literally making fun of us?” Gay wondered.
She continued, “My hairstylist admitted to me that she was involved, and that’s how the whole thing came out. Like she had a full mea culpa, full confession and apologized, revealed everything. We esteemed her for being that forthcoming, and that was something that Monica, still refused to do.”
Now, Gay has more than just a new hairstylist. “I have a totally new team,” she told Ripa.
