NEED TO KNOW
RAYE is looking for a husband.
The Grammy-nominated artist, 28, declares as much on her latest hit single “Where Is My Husband!,” and now she’s opening up about exactly what qualities she’s looking for in a romantic partner.
“Words of affirmation is my love language,” RAYE tells PEOPLE at Bloomingdale’s N.Y.C. holiday window unveiling in partnership with Burberry on Wednesday, Nov. 19. “So, you need to have the qualities of a good communicator. Communication is so important to me.”
“I know everyone on Love Island also always says it, but a sense of humor, you know? You’ve gotta be funny,” she adds. “Laughing is my favorite hobby. I need someone who can keep me laughing.”
Furthermore, RAYE says she needs a “disciplined” husband. “That’s my weakness in life and I need someone who’s gonna be like, ‘Right, today we’re gonna get out of bed, and we’re gonna do this, and I’m like, ‘Okay.'”
Since its release in September, “Where Is My Husband!” has become the British singer-songwriter’s second solo hit (and third overall) to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
It’s also sparked a TikTok trend set to the bridge, which features the lyrics: “I would like a ring, I would like a ring / I would like a diamond ring on my wedding finger / I would like a big and shiny diamond / That I could wave around and talk and talk about it.”

But what kind of ring would she like to receive? “I would really love like one with like a ruby, and then like diamonds around it, or like an emerald and diamonds around it,” explains RAYE. “I think I’d like that a lot.”
The Bloomingdale’s event saw RAYE perform her latest hit and more in front of the department store’s iconic 59th Street flagship location, before unveiling the holiday windows, designed with Burberry for the Happy Together campaign.

“It’s very exciting,” she says of the event, for which she was dressed in a sparkling black Burberry gown. “I love a bit of jazz, I love a bit of Christmastime, you know? And I think this is really just my future aesthetic, maybe.”
This holiday season, RAYE looks forward to simply spending time with family. “I’m a very family-orientated person. It’s nice to all gather in one place and see my grandparents as well,” she explains, noting that she’ll also enjoy a festive treat. “I do love mince pie — a good mince pie with ice cream.”
