Priscilla Presley revealed what she thinks Elvis Presley would be doing if he were still alive today.
The groundbreaking singer, who died on August 16, 1977, at age 42, would have been 91 years old on Jan 8.
“I think he’d be doing the same thing in life – singing and touring. He loved it,” Priscilla, 80, said while speaking to Hello! Magazine about her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis.

Priscilla revealed that writing the memoir led her to relive her past — both the highs and the lows.
“It took me a while to finish it up – more than 11 months,” she said of writing the book. “You remember a lot of things, and it was a good thing, to be honest. A lot of remembering wonderful times and difficult times — and you’re reliving your life.”
The Naked Gun star said that she and Elvis, who were married for six years from 1967 to 1973, after dating for nearly a decade, remained close after their split.
“We always remained friendly and would still get together,” she recalled while speaking to Hello! Magazine. “Of course, we had our daughter [the late Lisa Marie Presley], and I would bring her to see her dad perform and made sure they spent a lot of time together. She’d spent extensive time with him at Graceland,” she said.

“We still cared for each other,” she added of her dynamic with the iconic singer, while noting that “he just had a great sense of humor and [was] fun to be with.”
Priscilla is currently on a book tour for her memoir, an experience which she says has been extremely positive.
“I love doing it, talking about all this, sharing, and of course answering all their questions. I get some good questions!” she said.
She added that one person even asked if Elvis ever wore a toupee, to which she responded, “No, that’s not true; that was his beautiful hair.”
“It’s been great,” she said of the tour. “I’ve been to London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, New York, Christchurch, Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney” — and she said she hopes to keep touring in 2026.

Priscilla famously first met Elvis while he was stationed on a military base in Germany — the same one where her father was also stationed — in 1959.
The actress and activist has previously spoken about what it was like losing Elvis, describing his death as surreal.
“I was still shocked. It was just too hard to believe,” she said while recalling his Memphis funeral during a 2018 appearance on Today.
“And going out the gates in the limo [of Graceland] and seeing the streets lined up on both sides all the way to the cemetery. You’d see glimpses, you’d see people crying, hysterical, fainting, and that’s how impactful it was and still to this day. People come around the same time and they’re all there.”
