Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery — just ask Pitbull.
In an article published on Tuesday, June 10, the “Fireball” singer spoke to the BBC about the viral trend where fans attending his concerts will dress up as him. The costumes are complete with a goatee, sunglasses, a white button-down shirt and a bald cap — Pitbull’s signature look.
Following shows in Manchester, London and Dublin, Pitbull, 44, raved about the sea of bald caps in the crowd at his performances.
“Every time I’m at a show, I let them know that when you put on a bald cap, I hope you’re ready to have the time of your lives – it feels deeper than just music,” Pitbull told the publication.

“It’s the ultimate trophy to be able to go on stage and see all the hard work that you put into the music,” he added.
“I’ve been in the game for 25 years and to see every demographic, everybody [dressing up] at the shows is priceless.”
Pitbull had shared montage clips to his Instagram of fans dressed up as him, featuring them getting ready for his shows, dancing in the crowd and wandering the venues in their ensembles, accessorized with black ties and suit jackets.
One clip showed a concertgoer searching for their friend in the crowd, surrounded by Pitbull fans dressed as the rapper. “POV: you lose your friends at the pitbull concert,” text read on the video. This is perhaps the only downside to participating in the viral trend.

The “Hotel Room Service” singer also reflected on his career, telling the BBC that he is an “anamoly” in the music industry.
“There’s an irony as I’m kind of an anomaly in the music business,” he said. “In the Latin world they said I was too English, and in the English world I was too Latin, so to bring it together now, when it all really started around 2010, feels really good.”

Added Pitbull, “I now get the chance to merge the worlds together and to be able to hit the stage and see the power of music, no matter the language.”
Throughout his career, Pitbull has worked with Kesha, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Bon Jovi, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez.
