A cast full of young actors experiencing growth spurts added another challenge to the production of the series, which Riordan, who is also an executive producer on the series, spoke about to USA Today.

“One thing I didn’t fully appreciate when we started this TV journey is how long it would take to do a season of television at this magnitude,” he said in December 2025. “The actors are growing up faster than we can film, and there’s not much we can obviously do about that, except move forward at the most reasonable pace we can. And that’s OK.”
