Palm Beach isn’t just an affluent barrier island in Florida; it’s a world of its own.
PEOPLE has an exclusive look at the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming reality series Members Only: Palm Beach, which chronicles the coveted lives of those who reside there. While it can seem like a year-round paradise, however, this cast proves there’s much more than meets the eye.
“Set within the exclusive enclaves of Palm Beach County, the eight-episode first season will follow a group of women navigating the unspoken rules, inherited traditions, and high-stakes hierarchies of America’s most rarefied social circles,” reads the official logline. “In this manicured world of privilege and private clubs, reputations are built over brunch and alliances shift over champagne. While wealth is ubiquitous, power, influence, and access are the true currency.”

The trailer kicks off with the ladies — Taja Abitbol, Maria Cozamanis (aka DJ TUMBLES), Hilary Musser, Ro-mina Ustayev and Rosalyn Yellin — describing the “many layers” of Palm Beach: “It’s one of the richest zip codes in the United States. It has old money and big-ass houses.”
Taja then admits that while she “had no idea what a country club was” before moving to Florida, she says, “that’s my life now.”
“Florida is status,” Maria adds. “If you aren’t part of the in crowd, then you’re not in at all.”
Dubbing Hilary “quintessential Palm Beach royalty,” Taja quips, “except for the five marriages, but…”
And she’s not the only one who is throwing shade at Hilary. Rosalyn explains that while “Hilary has been in Palm Beach the longest, I moved up in Palm Beach society pretty quickly, so I think that there is a little jealousy there.”
Taja seems to already be taking that top spot in societal hierarchy, though: “If Palm Beach society were a high-rise building, Hilary and I are definitely in the penthouses.”

Unlike the others, Romina is new to the area, and she expresses her nerves entering the group: “I really don’t know how they’re gonna react to me.”
“Romina is in the basement,” Taja claims. “There is an underlying rule book here.”
Rosalyn also takes issue with the newbie, calling her out for wearing a revealing outfit, saying, “You never show your boobs and your knees.”

“I’m not gonna wear a grandma dress,” Romina snaps back. “Oh, these people would think they’re gonna tell me what to wear.”
The pushback causes tension with Rosalyn, who says, “I see so much potential that she just doesn’t wanna listen. She’s not going to change Palm Beach.”

As the preview comes to an end, Taja reveals the secret behind Palm Beach’s exclusivity.
“We have everything that we could ever want,” she confesses. “It’s about power.”

Meanwhile, drama among the group begins to grow, and Hilary appears to shut down the possibility of “ever” being “best friends” with Rosalyn before throwing a jab at Romina: “I don’t feel like she belongs in our group.”
“Who is she to tell me that I don’t belong?” Romina says.
Members Only: Palm Beach premieres Monday, Dec. 29, on Netflix.
