Nicole Kidman enjoyed a special summer with her girls.
On Tuesday, Aug. 19, the Babygirl actress, 58, shared several snaps on Instagram from her summer with her daughters Faith, 14, and Sunday, 17, whom she shares with husband Keith Urban. The roundup included photos of Kidman celebrating Sunday’s birthday, as well as spending time with her girls on vacation and at a music festival.
“Summer memories ❤️ Now back to school ✨,” she captioned the carousel.
A source close to the family tells PEOPLE that the mother-daughter trio “have been inseparable” all summer.
“While Keith has been away on tour all summer, Nicole and her daughters have been inseparable, spending time together bonding,” the insider says. “Now the focus is back to school in Nashville, where Nic has been getting the girls ready for the new year.”
The family of four lives full-time in Nashville, which the source says Kidman “loves” for multiple reasons.
“Nicole lives full-time in Nashville. She loves the tight-knit community and group of friends that she has built, and it’s the perfect place to raise her children,” adds the insider.
Sunday also recently shared photos on Instagram from her summer, saying goodbye to the full freedom of the warm months and reacclimating herself to life as a student.
“Schools back so time to reminisce the vacay,” she captioned the post.
Kidman has also been spending time with her sister Antonia, 55, who appears in the photos and is a mother of six.
“It’s also been very important to Nicole that she and her daughters spend time with her sister and cousins,” the source shares. “Nicole has made it a priority to get them together as much as possible, bringing her sister and her family to Nashville for Thanksgiving, going to Sydney for Christmas and going on holiday this summer together.”
The insider adds, “They have always been very close and have become even closer after the death of her mother, Janelle.”

Kidman, who is currently in early development on Big Little Lies season 3 with close friend Reese Witherspoon, told Allure in May that she’s “very close” to both her daughters.
“I’m very close to both my girls,” Kidman said of her teenage daughters. “I sit on their beds and discuss the most intimate things; I get to be their guide.”
“If they want to tell me to be quiet, they can. I’m able to apologize to them. I’m able to stand up to them. I very much like the relationship we have. It’s nice to be able to say that.”
