NEED TO KNOW
Nicole Kidman is staying booked and busy.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, Paramount+ announced that Lioness, the spy thriller Kidman, 58, leads alongside Zoe Saldaña and executive produces, has been renewed for a season 3.
No further details were shared on what fans can expect from the upcoming installment of the hit series, but there are plenty of loose threads for Joe (Saldaña) and Kaitlyn (Kidman) to deal with following the dramatic events of season 2.
Lioness’ renewal news comes one day after Kidman filed for divorce from her husband of 19 years, Keith Urban. The day before she filed, PEOPLE confirmed the longtime couple had split.
A source said that the Australian actress “didn’t want” to separate from Urban, 47, and was “fighting to save the marriage.”

Another insider told PEOPLE that the pair — who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14 — have “been living separately for a while now” and that “hasn’t been a secret” amongst their circles.
“People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,” the insider said.
Lioness is the fifth project Kidman has lined up for herself in the coming months.
Big Little Lies — which she starred in alongside powerhouse ensemble Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley — has been confirmed to return for a season 3. She will also star in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Scarpetta, Discretion and Girls and Their Horses.

Kidman previously told PEOPLE that making the Taylor Sheridan series is a “rollercoaster ride.”
“There’s an enormous amount of action in this show,” she explained. “We both had to work really hard, because they would share this fantastic dialogue, and you want to deliver on that. But it’s also very physical and demanding.”
Luckily, she and Saldaña, 47, have formed what the Emilia Perez star called a “beautiful” and “genuine” friendship, which makes working together “easier.”
“The one thing that I admire so much about Nicole is that she’s very passionate about what she does. She loves what she does,” Saldaña told PEOPLE. “So there’s a level of preparation that she brings to the table that repurposes you if you’re working alongside her. And I get to work with someone that I’ve truly respected and admired for such a long time. And now, I get to tell my friends like, ‘I’m friends with Nicole!'”
