Molly Shannon is feeling “happy” and “healthy” nowadays.
But the Saturday Night Live alum, 60, revealed during a PEOPLE in 10 interview what made her feel self-conscious early in her career.
“When I was younger I was like, ‘Aw, my face is so round’ — I would be hard on myself,” the Superstar actress says while also sharing what she’s enjoyed about aging over the past few decades.

“You just get so much more comfortable with yourself. I heard people say the 20s and the 30s are kind of hard, and I know that makes sense,” she continues, before revealing what’s changed. “You’re more settled into your life. You know yourself better. I feel less self-conscious.”

”Now, I’m like, ‘I’m alive. I’m healthy. I feel good.’ ” she adds. “I love being a mother, and my husband is so great. I just feel more settled, just happy.”
Shannon has been married to her husband, Fritz Chesnut, since 2004. Together, they share two children, daughter Stella and son Nolan.
As far as her career, Shannon has three upcoming projects in the works: action-comedy film Ball’s Up, teen road trip comedy movie Driver’s Ed and romantic comedy film People We Meet on Vacation.
