And while the married duo have their hands full of livestock, they have a secure system in raising their furry friends.
“I started rescuing farm animals,” Millie explained on the SmartLess podcast March 10. “I would basically take these animals and bottle feed them. The goats sleep in our bed and wear diapers. They are basically babies. I would sleep with them and Jake, and they would sleep in the middle, and Jake would get up and do a shift and then I would do a shift.”
Their mission in housing these multiple animals, including their own personal pets, isn’t for show. After all, Millie knew that relocating to a large farm would help her expand her animal rescue group Joey’s Friends, which she launched in 2022.
“I’m not doing it for the aesthetic,” Millie told Vanity Fair in February 2025. “I’m doing it because I love it. There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not. If you’re not picking up horse s–t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”
