Tish Cyrus didn’t mean to start a war when she accidentally unfollowed Miley Cyrus on Instagram.
The “We Can’t Stop” singer and her mom cleared the air over what really went down when Tish seemingly unfollowed Miley in May—shortly after Miley reunited with dad Billy Ray Cyrus amid speculation about a larger Cyrus family feud.
“The timing was interesting,” Miley, 32, said on the June 19 episode of Sorry We’re Cyrus. “If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing.”
Tish, 58, concurred, saying, “that is true,” before the Hannah Montana alum explained why the timing was so notable.
“Like, I went to go see Billy Ray and you mysteriously unfollowed me Tish,” Miley teased, “and then you got some backlash and then suddenly you knew how to press that follow button real quick. I’m just kidding!”
The “Flowers” hitmaker then revealed what was really behind the unfollowing debacle, saying, “The truth is, which is boring, is there’s a bug in Meta,” referring to the company that owns Instagram.
