“It’s just really busy and I’m trying to figure out the work-life balance,” she admitted. “I hear that a lot of people are talking about self care and I’m just wondering, ‘When?’ Because I’m the working mom and I already have the guilt and I don’t want to take more time away from them. But I understand that I need to fill up the tank.”
Indeed, Michelle has been all work lately, as she earned a nod for her performance in Dying for Sex for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Anthology Series or Movie alongside The Penguin’s Cristin Milioti, Sirens’ Meghann Fahy, Disclaimer’s Cate Blanchett and Black Mirror’s Rashida Jones.
The venture of playing Molly, a terminal cancer patient on a journey of sexual discovery, was a big hitter for Michelle, but she said it was ultimately her family, specifically her teenager, who encouraged her to take it.
“To go make a show about sex and death with so many unknown elements,” she told New York magazine in March. “You really do need the support of your home team to say, ‘Go, Mom, go.’”
