Michael B. Jordan’s pick for favorite pop culture vampire sucks … blood.
Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive chat at the Gotham Awards in New York City on Dec. 1, the Sinners actor revealed his favorite on-screen bloodsucking vamp — who flew into theaters in the mid-1990s.
“Vampire in Brooklyn,” Jordan, 38, said, referring to Eddie Murphy’s character in the 1995 vampire horror comedy Vampire in Brooklyn.

“The world’s last vampire is about to encounter something infinitely more terrifying than himself: Brooklyn,” the narrator says in the film’s trailer.
Murphy, 64, plays the undead Maximillian alongside Angela Bassett’s Detective Rita Veder, whom the vampire wants to turn into his eternal lover.
Thirty years after Murphy’s take on vampires, Jordan added his name to the list of cinematic vampires with his Oscar-buzzing Sinners.

In Sinners, Jordan plays twins Elijah “Smoke” Moore and Elias “Stack” Moore as they defend their hometown against invading vampires.
Spoiler: By the end of Sinners, which is set in the 1930s, one of the twins succumbs to a vampire bite and becomes a vampire himself.
Sinners is available to stream on Max and is available for purchase on Prime Video, Fandango At Home and Apple TV.
