NEED TO KNOW
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is looking worthy of Miranda Priestly.
Meryl Streep, who played the fictional fashion magazine editor in the iconic 2006 dramedy, was photographed filming scenes with costar Stanley Tucci in New York City on Monday, July 28, several weeks after the film entered production.
Tucci, 64, and Streep, 76, were photographed in polished looks walking together outside, while Anne Hathaway was also snapped wearing multiple designer looks on the movie’s set as filming continued in midtown Manhattan.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 will see the return of several cast members from The Devil Wears Prada, including Streep as the fictional Runway magazine editor, Hathaway, 42, as Andrea “Andy” Sachs, Tucci, who played Runway art director Nigel Kipling and Emily Blunt, last seen on screen as Miranda’s senior personal assistant Emily Charlton.
New cast members in the movie include Colin from Accounts co-creator and star Patrick Brammall, who will replace Adrian Grenier’s Nate as Hathaway’s love interest, as Entertainment Weekly reported on July 21. Kenneth Branagh is also joining the cast of the sequel as the husband to iconic magazine editor Miranda, multiple outlets previously reported.

Adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s book of the same name, the original 2006 film follows Andy, a recent college graduate eager to pursue a career in journalism. She ends up working as a junior assistant for Miranda, the editor-in-chief of Runway, a fictional high-fashion magazine akin to Vogue.
Throughout the film, Andy struggles to meet the demands of her job and fails to impress co-workers Emily and Nigel while watching her relationship with her boyfriend Nate (Grenier) crumble. According to Variety, the sequel follows Miranda “as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”

Blunt, 42, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the sequel back in June, noting that she had not yet read a script for the sequel but addressed the reports about Emily and Miranda’s alleged rivalry.
“Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?” Blunt joked, referencing their other work together in films Into the Woods and Mary Poppins Returns. “We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it. I’m not sure.”
She added of the gap between the first Devil Wears Prada and reprising her role for the sequel, “20 years ago — in a blink, it’s gone by.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in theaters May 1, 2026.
