Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are celebrating 20 years of marital bliss.
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, the 55-year-old Little Mermaid actress and her 52-year-old writer, director and producer husband marked their 20th wedding anniversary with touching tributes on Instagram.
Taking to her profile, McCarthy shared a photo from the day that she and Falcone exchanged vows. In it, they are standing close to one another as though they are about to go in for a tender kiss.
“Twenty years ago today I got hit with a lucky stick! I married the love of my life and card carrying hypochondriac. xoxo,” the Bridesmaids star gushed in the accompanying caption.
Meanwhile, Falcone shared a photo of his bride on their big day on his account, captioning it, “20 years ago, this lovely lady agreed to marry me. I’m so grateful she said yes — these have been the happiest years of my life. I’m hopeful for 120 more years together. I love you, Mooch! ❤️”
In the photo, McCarthy looks radiant in her wedding dress with a veil over her face. She carried a colorful bouquet of peach, orange and yellow roses with some whimsical greenery.
Octavia Spencer, who collaborated with McCarthy and Falcone on 2021’s Thunder Force, left a comment on her longtime friend’s post, writing, “Congratulations you two.”
In 2021, Spencer and McCarthy opened up about the opportunity to play superheroes together in the movie, which was written, directed and produced by Falcone.
“I got her to myself for three months,” McCarthy gushed to PEOPLE, noting that they’d been friends for 25 years at the time.
Speaking about their bond, Spencer shared, “I knew her before she had kids. And I know her as a mom. She’s raising two amazing young women, and they have her as a role model. That’s one of my favorite things about her. I mean, aside from all of my other favorite things. I just love seeing her with Georgie and Viv.”
McCarthy and Falcone share their two daughters, 18-year-old Vivian and 15-year-old Georgette. The longtime couple is also proud co-founders of their production company, On the Day Productions.
Their children and professional collaborations are the result of a relationship rooted in the ’90s. They formally met in a comedy class in 1998 and eventually began a romantic relationship, going on to marry.
Over the years, McCarthy and Falcone have worked on multiple projects together, first sharing the screen in a 2003 episode of Gilmore Girls when her husband made a guest appearance on the series.

They said “I do” in October 2005 and went on to welcome their children together before both appearing in 2011’s Bridesmaids. The film, which also starred Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne, propelled McCarthy’s fame to another level thanks to her scene-stealing comedic chops.
Meanwhile, Falcone made a cute cameo as an air marshal who eventually falls for McCarthy’s character, Megan Price.
“I’m grateful every day,” McCarthy wrote about their relationship while marking their 19th anniversary in 2024, “that I married my best friend and a fellow wig wearer!!!”
