NEED TO KNOW
Seven new faces have joined the cast for The Summer I Turned Pretty’s final season.
In June 2024, Variety reported that the third and final installment of the hit Prime Video series would include Isabella Briggs and Kristen Connolly as series regulars.
Sofia Bryant, Lily Donoghue, Zoe de Grand Maison, Emma Ishta and Tanner Zagarino would also join the cast as recurring characters who stir up more drama for returning stars Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, Christopher Briney, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer.
Based on Jenny Han’s book trilogy of the same name, season 3 picks up two years after the events of the season 2 finale, with Belly (Tung) at the end of her junior year at college. Everything is going according to plan as she gets ready for summer at Cousins Beach with her boyfriend Jeremiah (Casalegno) — until her ex Conrad (Briney) shows up.
“Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart,” the synopsis reads. “Summer will never be the same.”
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty premiered its first two episodes on July 16 on Prime Video, and the series finale will air on Sept. 17.

Briggs joins The Summer I Turned Pretty as Denise, a new addition to the series who works at Breaker Capital, the venture capital firm where Steven (Kaufman) has landed a job. Though her character doesn’t appear in Han’s original books, Denise quickly makes an impression.
“We first meet Denise as an employee at Breaker Capital, Adam Fisher’s VC Company, working alongside Steven and Jeremiah,” Briggs told Numéro in July 2025. “She is an incredibly hard and passionate worker, with a bit of a sardonic edge.”
The actress teased that viewers will watch a “workplace rivalry” unfold between Denise and Steven, but that there’s more to her than meets the eye.
“As the show progresses, you’ll get to see more of her vulnerability and understand the root of the initial opinions she holds,” she said.
Kaufman also hinted at Denise’s impact on his character, telling Today.com in July 2025 that their “workplace dynamic really changes Steven.” Briggs told Numéro that she met Kaufman a few weeks before filming and that she already knew Tung from school.
Briggs is best known for her role in the 2023 series Fatal Attraction and shared in a June 2025 Instagram post just how much The Summer I Turned Pretty meant to her.
“This experience has taught me so much about myself as person and as an actor,” she wrote. “Love you all and enjoy the show 🙂↕️✨.”
Off-screen, she’s been dating artist Mikael Gemeda-Breka since 2019.

The actress announced her casting on Instagram in June 2025 and later shared a photo from the season 3 premiere launch party.
She’s best known for her roles as Christina Gallagher on House of Cards and Jamie Campbell on CBS’s Zoo.
Originally from Montclair, N.J., Connolly lives in New Jersey with her husband, Stephen O’Reilly, and their son, Aidan, according to the New York Post.
Sofia Bryant as Anika

Bryant joins the cast as Anika, a character who forms a fast friendship with Belly and Taylor while at college. The Harlem-born actress told Teen Vogue in July 2025 that her character represents a new, more mature stage of Belly’s life.
“If we really, really think about it, Anika is Belly’s first friend outside of childhood,” she told the outlet. “They share a lot of their firsts together. They share their first apartment together, they’re roommates for a while, and Anika becomes this older sister for Belly, which is a really nice dynamic to see.”
Bryant is best known for her roles in the Netflix series I Am Not Okay With This, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods and The Code.
Lily Donoghue as Lacie Barone

Donoghue plays Lacie Barone, one of Taylor’s sorority sisters who shares a complicated history with Jeremiah. The two hooked up during a spring break trip to Cabo, Mexico — a moment that’s sure to stir up drama as season 3 unfolds.
She’s best known for her roles in Daisy Jones & the Six, Dirty John, Jane the Virgin and Black Christmas.

Zagarino joins the cast in season 3 as Redbird, one of Jeremiah’s frat brothers — and someone Belly isn’t exactly thrilled to have around.
The actor is best known for his roles in the Jason Segel and Harrison Ford dramedy Shrinking and the 2024 film Aftermath. Ahead of the season 3 premiere, he shared several behind-the-scenes photos from filming, including a selfie with castmates Tung, Bryant and Spencer.
“THE GALS! And I love @thesummeriturnedpretty so excited for you all to see! ☀️💕,” he wrote in a June 2025 post on Instagram.
Off-screen, Zagarino has been dating model Marissa Long since 2021.
