NEED TO KNOW
Matt Dillon is revealing his anti-aging secret — and it’s got nothing to do with expensive beauty products or procedures.
While walking the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival for his new movie The Fence on Wednesday, Sept. 10, the 61-year-old movie star stopped to answer a question from a reporter about the internet fawning over his looks.
“There’s a video that’s going viral online right now where everyone’s saying you have not aged a day,” the reporter said, adding, “What is the secret to the fountain of youth for you?”

Dillon admitted he had not seen the viral clip in question, which was from a Criterion Closet interview, according to the TikTok shared by Now Toronto showing his interview at TIFF.
“How is this man 61 YEARS OLD????” and “Like a fine, fine, wine” were among the fan comments from the original post.
“Really? Well, I don’t know what to say about that,” the There’s Something About Mary star replied. “It doesn’t feel that way always.”
Dillon took a beat to think about what works for him before sharing his tips and tricks to remaining youthful.
He first credited his mother, who “was very young” when she had him, though he joked that he couldn’t say the same for his father.
“I think the thing is just keep your spirit young,” Dillon said. “Enjoy life, make sure you get plenty of exercise.”

His last bit of advice, however, is something he thinks may be hard for some to follow through on.
“Don’t get too worried about stuff all the time, which is not, not easy,” the You, Me and Dupree actor said.
Dillon has seemingly embraced his age at every stage of his life.
In 2024, he stunned with a silver fox moment at the Cannes Film Festival while showing off his salt-and-pepper hair and stubble on the red carpet for his film Being Maria.
And fans aren’t the only ones who are quite taken by Dillon. Appearing in Esquire’s “For the Record” video series in April, Kevin Bacon revealed he was supposed to “start making out” with Dillon when the two costarred in 1998’s Wild Things.

“In the original script, we start making out,” Bacon recalled of their shower scene. “Part of what was crazy about the movie was that there were all these twists … you know, that was like the hook of the movie, so to me, [the kiss] was a great twist. That’s all. I was like, ‘That’d be an awesome twist.’ ”
“But I don’t know. For some reason, it got cut. We didn’t shoot it,” the 67-year-old said.

However, Bacon joked that he would have been okay with filming the scene.
An off-screen producer then asked Bacon to confirm that he was “attached to” the kiss scene — a statement they previously made before the actor looked back at the cut moment — he replied, “Yeah, I definitely was. Look at him — he’s gorgeous.”
