Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s daughter Monroe Cannon made rare comments about her siblings in a new Instagram Stories post.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Monroe, 14, took to social media to explain her blended family.
“clearing something up guys,” she began, adding, “i only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon. i do have other half siblings from my dad but they are all many many years younger than me!”
The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” hitmaker, 56, shares twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-husband Cannon, 45. After a few months of dating, they secretly tied the knot in a private ceremony in the Bahamas in 2008, and welcomed Monroe and Moroccan in 2011.
Since their 2014 separation and 2016 divorce, Cannon has notably fathered 10 more children. He shares sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
Cannon is father to two children with Alyssa Scott — son Zen, who died at 5 months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon born on Dec. 14, 2022.
Cannon once credited his oldest daughter Monroe with helping him through difficult moments, including the sudden loss of his son Zen. “My daughter, really, she’s so in tune and in line and wise beyond her years,” he previously told PEOPLE. “I got a lot of therapists, but she’s probably my best therapist.”

He added, “She keeps me in check. She’s so pure and honest. […] She’s my oldest child. Even though they’re twins, she came out first and she lets everybody know it. She’s helped me keep it strong.”

When Carey was asked recently by Gayle King for CBS Mornings in a pre-taped segment on Sept. 24 about her co-parenting relationship with the Masked Singer host, she responded, “I kind of feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him, because he can just be in his own world.”
“No offense to him,” she added at the time.
