Mandy Moore is currently giving her all as a mom to three children under the age of 4.
“I know that there are seasons of life, but this particular season and chapter is all hands on deck,” the actress, 41, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.
Explaining that raising her kids — sons August “Gus” Harrison and Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett, plus daughter Louise “Lou” Everett — with husband Taylor Goldsmith is “a lot,” Moore adds, however, “It’s also the greatest thing in the world.”
“There’s a lot of moving parts at all times, but it’s the best, obviously,” continues the This Is Us star.

According to Moore, accepting the good with the bad that comes as a mother is just part of the role.
“You have to,” she says. “You just lean in, you surrender, you submit to it. It’s wild, but it’s the best ride ever.”

Moore, who has partnered with anti-RSV medication Beyfortus, adds that Goldsmith, 40, shares similar feelings when it comes to being a parent to multiple young kids.
“My husband and I [recently] looked at each other like, ‘This is a lot, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,’ ” she says.

Moore and Goldsmith got engaged in 2017, and they married a year later in an intimate backyard ceremony.
In February 2021, the pair welcomed their first child. Then, in October 2022, Moore gave birth to another baby, and their third child later arrived in September 2024.
Looking at parenthood now, Moore reiterates to PEOPLE that life can get pretty hectic, especially with her youngest child.
“Lou is almost one, and she’s crawling everywhere and starting to walk — well, she thinks she can walk,” she says with a laugh, adding of her toddler, “She thinks she can just take off and doesn’t need to hold onto us or anything.”
