NEED TO KNOW
Lola Young has booked her next big gig.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that the Grammy winner, 25, is set to perform live at the 34th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles on March 15.
The annual event will be hosted by power couple Elton John and David Furnish in support of the foundation’s mission to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The two will be joined, for the third year, by Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka as co-hosts.
Young opened up about joining the charity event in a statement. “It’s been incredible getting to know Elton and David, and I’m grateful for the support they’ve shown my music. Performing at the Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party feels like a special moment in today’s world,” she said.

“Their work to support communities who need it most is so important to me, and I’m proud to be part of a night that helps make a meaningful impact,” the singer added.
Young will be performing a selection of her hit songs during the event, which has previously welcomed Brandi Carlile, Chappell Roan, Rina Sawayama and Dua Lipa as performers.
John, 78, called Young “a truly remarkable talent” in a statement. “It’s such an exciting time for new British artists, and Lola’s sheer brilliance has put her right at the forefront globally,” he said.
Furnish, husband to John and chair of the foundation, added that they are “thrilled” to have Young support the annual event.

Young took home the gold for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2026 Grammys, marking her first-ever Grammy award. She had her breakthrough with her 2024 single “Messy” from her This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway album.
The English singer released her third album, I’m Only F**king Myself, in 2025. The LP contained a single called “D£aler,” which John was admittedly a fan of. That September, the “Rocket Man” singer joked in an Instagram video that he had to give Young the keys to his house after losing a bet over whether the single would reach No. 1.
The fundraiser will welcome a slew of celebrities from the foundation’s benefit chair and committee, including Patricia Arquette, Sophia Bush, Ashlyn Harris, Carlile, Chris Colfer, Lana Condor, Tiffany Haddish, Christina Hendricks, Tove Lo, Melanie Lynskey, Keke Palmer, Orville Peck, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Sharon Stone, Donatella Versace and more.
“To honor the more than 40 million people living with HIV around the world, we cannot wait to gather once again with our friends and supporters to raise much-needed funds for our lifesaving programs,” said John, who founded the namesake foundation.

Young performed a live piano rendition of “Messy” at this year’s Grammys, which was her first televised performance since taking a career break after collapsing on stage at the All Things Go Music Festival in N.Y.C. in September 2025.
She reflected on her break while talking to reporters in the press room at the awards show, saying, “You’ve got to protect your mental health in this industry. This is a very difficult industry to be in. I took the time out to get better because there’s a lot of things going on right now in my head, in my personal life.”
