NEED TO KNOW
Liam Neeson is sharing insight into how he and Pamela Anderson prepared for some of the more intimate moments in their new film The Naked Gun.
On Wednesday, July 30, the Taken star, 73, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and teased one sex scene in particular — before revealing that, of the dozens of films he’s starred in before, this one marked the first to feature an intimacy coordinator for him on set.
“There’s a threesome. And one of the participants is very cold,” Neeson said, teasing the scene as Colbert called the third participant “cold for such a hot event.”
The actor then confirmed that the film marked his first experience with an intimacy coordinator, while Colbert asked him how the process was. “A little bit strange,” Neeson confirmed. “Well, Pamela and I knew…”
Before Neeson could finish his sentence, Colbert interjected as they both laughed, “You guys knew what to do? But did you know how to bring in a third or was that old hat for you?”
“No, that was a first,” Neeson said, laughing. “That had to be specifically choreographed.”

Elsewhere during the conversation, Colbert asked Neeson to confirm if the “bare bottom” featured in the movie was actually his, or if he used a “stunt arse.”
“I wish I could say it was mine, it’s not… It’s in the contract, do Liam Neeson’s stunt arse,” Neeson joked. He also confirmed that he did not get to “pick the butt” that was featured, with the actor saying, “No, I trust it,” with a laugh.
The Naked Gun, which arrives in theaters on Aug. 1, features Neeson as Frank Drebin, Jr. — the son of Police Squad lieutenant Frank Drebin, who was first played by Leslie Nielsen in the original 1988 film and its sequels. Anderson, 58, stars opposite Neeson as femme fatale Beth Davenport.
On Tuesday, a source close to the film told PEOPLE that its two stars began a romance after shooting The Naked Gun. The news arrived as the duo pretended to get caught making out on live TV and as Anderson planted a kiss on Neeson’s cheek on the red carpet at the film’s London premiere.
“It’s a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other,” the source said, adding that the two are “enjoying each other’s company.”
Neeson previously raved about working alongside Anderson — who also recently starred in Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl — in his 2024 PEOPLE cover story. “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” he said at the time.
“I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film,” he added.
As for Anderson, she called her costar “the perfect gentleman” in the same feature.
“He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience,” she said. “It was an absolute honor to work with him.”
