Kylie Jenner was by her boyfriend’s side for the surprise world premiere of his latest movie.
On Monday, Oct. 6, Timothée Chalamet and Josh Safdie surprised the audience at the New York Film Festival’s secret screening by premiering A24’s Marty Supreme, which sees the actor bring life to a fictionalized story of professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman.
In videos shared on the festival’s accounts, Jenner, 28, was backstage with Chalamet, 29, and Safdie, who wrote and directed the film, before they surprised the crowd on stage to introduce the movie. Castmembers Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion and Ronald Bronstein also joined them on stage, and Chalamet called the movie a “love letter to New York.”
After the screening, Jenner and Chalamet celebrated at the afterparty at Waverly Inn, where they sat in a booth together with friends for most of the night, looking warmly affectionate and happy, an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
The last time the couple was seen publicly together was in August. Jenner joined Chalamet in Budapest, where he was filming Dune: Part Three, and were photographed in a local coffee shop.
In a post shared on Instagram, the café wrote that the couple “just walked in” and were “super nice and kind” during their visit.
That sighting came after a source told PEOPLE that the couple was “making it work,” despite their busy schedules keeping them apart for much of the summer.
“They haven’t seen each other for a few weeks only because Timothée’s been filming Dune in a studio in Budapest, and Kylie’s been working too,” the source said at the time, calling the actor’s schedule “grueling, with very little downtime.”
“Even though Kylie has a private jet, the flight is still 12 hours. She’s a mom and she works as well. She has a lot of responsibilities in LA,” the source added. “They FaceTime most days. They miss each other and are totally fine.”

Jenner also made a trip out to see the actor in July as they enjoyed a weekend together in Saint-Tropez. She had just attended Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos’ wedding in Venice, and Chalamet had been filming in Prague. At the time, a source said they were “very happy and just making it work.”

Earlier this year, the couple — who have been dating since the spring of 2023 — were out and about together quite frequently. In May, they attended several New York Knicks games together and made their long-awaited red carpet debut.
Jenner joined her beau in Rome at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards, where the Complete Unknown actor received the David for Cinematic Excellence honor.
