NEED TO KNOW
Kristin Davis was not expecting And Just Like That… to end when it did.
During an appearance on the Wednesday, Sept. 17, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Davis, 60, suggested she was just as surprised as everyone else to learn that the Sex and the City revival series — also starring Sarah Jessica Parker, 60, and Cynthia Nixon, 59 — was concluding after the season 3 finale.
As host Barrymore said she’d been questioning whether the cast wasn’t aware that the show was coming to an end, Davis replied, “Definitely true, didn’t know,” per a preview clip from her appearance on the talk show.
“Our commitment that we had made was a three-year commitment to each other, so we knew that part,” the Are You a Charlotte? podcast host, who played Charlotte York on all six seasons of SATC, as well as And Just Like That…, continued.
“But I just assumed that we were gonna keep going. That’s how I am, you know what I mean?” Davis added.
The actress also surprised SATC fan Barrymore by gifting her with a memento from the beloved HBO series: Charlotte’s cherry necklace.
“This was, like, one of my cooler Charlotte necklaces,” Davis told the Never Been Kissed actress, adding, “We love you, we love you. I wanted you to have a piece of the original.”

Davis’ comments about And Just Like That… come after the show’s director and showrunner, Michael Patrick King, announced the news that it was coming to an end with a joint Instagram post with the show and HBO Max on Aug. 1.
“And Just Like That…. the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end,” he wrote at the time.
King, who also wrote scripts for Sex and the City and And Just Like That…, explained that he previously decided that it was time to wrap up the series while he was writing the final episodes of the revival.
“While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” he shared. “Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12.”

King explained that he and Parker purposely waited to share the news because they wanted to keep the focus on the latest installment, which came to a close with the finale, which aired on Aug. 14.
“We didn’t want the world ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King said.
He finished his statement by thanking viewers, writing, “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”
Davis reposted the statement on Instagram at the time, captioning the post, “I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love.”
“And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever. ❤️,” she added.

The latest show followed Parker, Nixon and Davis’ beloved characters, Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, respectively, as a group of friends navigating their relationships, careers and friendships in New York City two decades after fans last saw them.
The original series, which ran from 1998 to 2004, also starred Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, but she only briefly reprised her role in the revival’s three seasons. The revival series also featured new actors, Sarita Choudhury and Nicole Ari Parker.
And Just Like That… is available to stream on HBO Max.
