Bad Bunny has a not-so-secret obsession!
The Puerto Rican rapper, 31, hosted Saturday Night Live on Saturday, Oct. 3, and took part in a sketch that welcomed a few very special guests.
Titled “KPop Demon Hunters,” the sketch revolved around Bad Bunny’s character Thomas meeting up with three friends for a meal at a restaurant. While they conversed around the table, the singer, dressed in a plaid shirt and an orange fleece sweater, couldn’t help but share his latest obsession with the Netflix hit animated musical movie, KPop Demon Hunters.
“We understand you’re really into the world of Kpop Demon Hunters, but there’s no reason to get upset over a movie,” Mikey Day’s character told Thomas when the conversation took a heated turn.
“You silly, stupid man,” Thomas replied. “You think it’s just a movie? It says at the beginning: Based on a true story.”
“I don’t think it does,” Melissa Villaseñor’s character chimed in. Chloe Fineman’s character also seemed to take offense to Thomas’ interest, as she pleaded, “Guys, can we just stop talking about KPop Demon Hunters?”
“Fine, forget that I’m even here,” Thomas said, turning away from the group. As the friends continued to discuss their lives, he began daydreaming of a performance of the popular song “Golden” by HUNTR/X, the fictional band at the heart of the movie, HUNTR/X.
While he thought of the performance, the real-life singers of the animated HUNTR/X trio — Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami — appeared twice in his daydream bubble to sing parts of “Golden” and “How It’s Done.”
KPop Demon Hunters follows a world-famous K-pop girl group who moonlight as demon hunters. But their double life gets complicated when a rival boy band harboring a sinister secret starts to steal their fans.
As the SNL skit continued, Bowen Yang appeared Jinu as — the benevolent leader of HUNTR/X’s competitors, the Saja Boy — and demanded the friend group give him their souls. The situation worsened and the friends begged Thomas to use his KPop Demon Hunters knowledge to help them.
“I cannot help you, but they can,” Thomas exclaimed as Ejae, Nuna and Ami appeared at the restaurant in all-black ensembles and full popstar glam. The three began performing “Golden” as the audience burst into applause.

The surprise appearance from the singers came after Netflix hosted a sing-along version of the movie in select theaters across the United States and Canada toward the end of August.
The song “Golden,” along with others from the soundtrack has reached mainstream success. Nine original songs from the movie have dominated the Billboard charts in recent months, making history as the first soundtrack with four simultaneous Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to Tudum, the soundtrack has racked up over 3 billion global streams, with “Golden” being submitted by the streamer for awards consideration, per Variety.
