NEED TO KNOW
Kimberly Williams-Paisley and LeAnn Rimes are hoping to see some special guests on 9-1-1: Nashville.
Over the summer, PEOPLE stopped by the set of the procedural drama to talk about the exciting debut season, which premiered on Thursday, Oct. 9. A spinoff of Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1 franchise, this new installment holds a lot of meaning to both Williams-Paisley, 54, and Rimes, 43, given their ties to Music City.
“It’s wonderful,” says Williams-Paisley, who lives in a nearby Tennessee suburb. “I don’t know if I’ve ever worked this close to where I live.”

During a conversation with PEOPLE at the premiere earlier this week, Williams-Paisley continued to gush over the magic of Nashville: “Nashville is such a colorful, vibrant city. I think it’s a really exciting place to be shooting. There are so many stories here… I’m pleased that the attention is gonna be focused here for a little bit.”
Williams-Paisley and her husband Brad Paisley have long called Nashville home. In fact, Paisley, 52, moved there in the 1990s to pursue his music career and he ultimately landed his first deal with a record label there.
When asked whether the “Whiskey Lullaby” artist would ever make a cameo on 9-1-1: Nashville, Williams-Paisley, who plays emergency dispatcher Cammie Raleigh, reveals it’s a very real possibility.
“He could, he’d probably be open to it,” she admits before joking that she’s already created the ideal storyline for him: “I said we should put him in turmoil, put him in an accident or crisis of some kind and let me save the day. That would make me feel good.”

Rimes got her first record deal with Nashville-based label Curb Records in 1996. In honor of her multifaceted skillset, the Grammy winner shares that she plans to integrate her two worlds together for this role.
“Dixie has some voice trouble right now actually,” she notes of her character Dixie Bennings, a single mom with a habit of starting drama. “But yeah, she definitely will throw some music in there.”
As for whether her famous hubby, actor Eddie Cibrian, would ever guest star on the show, Rimes is all for the idea.

“I would love it. Yes,” she declares. “I know that we have talked about that, so hopefully we’ll drag him on here soon.”
The series is the latest in Murphy’s 9-1-1 universe and stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Michael Provost, Hunter McVey, Hailey Kilgore and Juani Feliz in addition to Rimes and Williams-Paisley.
